Veneers (Photos at bottom of page)
Porcelain veneers are like "false fingernails" of thin porcelain that are fabricated to fit individual teeth.
They can be used to permanently change the colour of teeth, and also to close gaps, add length, and change the shape of teeth.
When?
When bleaching will not give the desired "white" result.
When a permanent solution is desired.
When you want a change in tooth shape as well as whitening.
How?
The teeth to be veneered will be numbed and their front surface is then "roughened". A mould is made of the teeth, and the veneers are then fabricated in a Dental Laboratory that specialises in this procedure. (LINK TO LABORATORY "HARMONY DENTAL CERAMICS")
In the second appointment, the veneers are cemented to the teeth with a special dental adhesive.
